There is never a dog so special as your first Aussie! And so it is with Gracie, my heart dog. We chose to go to Australian Shepherds as a good compromise between my golden retrievers and Evans' border collies. I knew just who I wanted to go to for an Aussie puppy: Leida Jones. Leida selected a beautiful blue merle girl for me with the most startling blue eyes. But it wasn't just Gracie's beauty that hooked me. It was her uncanny ability to read my mind! She knew what I was thinking and anticipated what I wanted before I could even teach her. So smart and so pretty...I was in love with Australian Shepherds and I never looked back. Gracie has done everything I have ever asked, although she sometimes has a lot to say about it! She is a two time MVA Qualifier at USASA Nationals and just needed one major to finish her AKC CH. Whatever she wants to do now is ok with me. We will continue to play in agility and obedience as long as she wants. Or she can just be a couch potato. She has my heart forever!
