The weekend at the Ocala Dog Show grounds was a breeder dream come true. Beautiful Eva, Forevr Farm New Year's Eve, was WB, BOW from the puppy class for a 4 point major under Judge, Sonny Ambrosio and then again the next day for a 5 point major under Judge, Keke Kahn!! My first Aussie Bred-By doing it with style! Eva is one of our Rowan x Charm puppies born on New Year's Eve. I am so thankful to my good friend, Yvette Le Blanc, Bayouland Aussies, for sharing Rowan with us!
Hooray for Myles!!! He finish two new AKC titles this weekend at the Pals & Paws Agility trial: Novice Agility Jumpers and Novice FAST! This was the first time I have handled Myles in an agility competition. We were a bit rough to start, as we were still figuring each other out. But by the end of the weekend, we were a team! Love this boy!!
Traveled to Cartersville, GA to once again enjoy the cooler temps and the hospitality of the Greater Atlanta Australian Shepherd Club. So much fun to visit with friends and enjoy the beautiful Aussies! Vegas made her puppy debut by charming everyone and garnered several placings in the large 2-4 month puppy bitch classes. Eva gained more ring experience showing in the 9-12 month puppy classes and received many placings and wonderful comments. Myles was wonderful, winning 2 BOB awards and 1 BOS award from very respected judges. Although the drive is long, it is still one of my favorite ASCA shows to attend. Hope one day, Evans will join me and compete in the herding trials at the same shows.
What an unbelievably exciting weekend at the Deland Shows. Sophia went Best of Breed at the Sunshine State Herding Specialty and Select the other two days. She earned 15 Grand Champion points her first weekend out.
Myles went WD BOW for a 5 point major on Saturday and then was awarded WD BOW & BOB for another 5 point major on Sunday to finish his AKC Championship! To top off the weekend he also earned a Group 1 and Group 4 in the Owner Handler Herding Group and then a Group 3 in the Herding Group.
Still pinching myself!! :-)
I found that the original website was not compatible with mobile devices. I have spent the last two days re-working the website to bring it up to date and make it work on my iPhone. Success! Hope you enjoy!
Great weekend at the ASCSFL ASCA shows! Sizzle garnered two WB and BOS wins, both 3 point majors! Now she just needs 6 single points to finish. Huge thank you to Stacey Brown Hayes!! We also competed in agility outdoors in 85+ degree heat. Not my favorite conditions but we still managed to get several first places. Both Sizzle & Charm earned their RS-O titles at this show. This will be the end of our outdoor agility entries for the summer; it just gets too hot here in Florida. We will be looking for indoor venues for all our dog competitions until things cool off a bit.
Another great ASCA show held by the Florida Panhandlers Australian Shepherd Club! A great opportunity to compete in conformation, agility, obedience & rally...all at the same venue! While it can get hectic, it is perfect for my multi-talented dogs, and we love to attend and try our luck.
Sizzle was the big winner with a 3 point major win for Winners Bitch, and a Reserve Winners Bitch the next day. She was also high Open Aussie in Agility and garnered a first place in Elite Jumpers as well. What a little star!
Gracie showed she can still do it at 10.5 years, qualifying in several rounds of agility and doing the "death defying dog walk" at this show. LOL! Although Utility Obedience evaded us, it was a good practice and showed us the things we need to work on. Through it all, Gracie shows willingness and enjoyment, whatever the task!
Whew! Two National Specialty Events back to back is so much fun but really exhausting...mostly for the people, as the dogs seem just fine!
Since this was being held in Jacksonville, we could not resist entering the older dogs last fall to try and qualify them to compete. Luck was with us and Evans competed with Porter and I ran Gracie at Level 4 in our first ever CPE National Event.
I'm so proud of Gracie! At 10.5 years of age, she ran with the best of them, qualifying in 6 our of 9 runs and even placing 3rd and 4th in two events. Porter qualified in 5 runs and also placed 3rd. (He was a bit distracted with 2 girls in season at home) Three days of National level agility with each dog running in 3 classes each day can get hectic, but we made it through.
The CPE Agility Nationals was extremely well organized, with incredible scheduling, so each ring ran super smoothly. Very impressed with the system. Lots of exhibitors came from all over the U.S. and Canada to the Jacksonville Equestrian Center. Congratulations to all who competed. Safe travels home!
Home again after a 9 day adventure to Purina Farms, in Grey Summit, MO. THE most fabulous place to go to show dogs with the nicest RV campsites, the most beautiful grounds, a huge A/C indoor show building complete with café and a great staff that works hard to make sure your specialty is the best! We love coming here for the United States Australian Shepherd Association Specialty. I particularly loved this year because we had NO Tornados!! Weather was amazing and I went from tall boots to flip flops during the time we were there.
